Once every year Northwood University hosts the Distinguished Teachers Luncheon. This is an event to honor and celebrate all the wonderful teachers who make such a difference in our lives. They ask students to invite their favorite teacher from high school or one of their current professors. I was sssssssoooo excited because I chose my high school teacher, Charlene Highsaw, from Northwestern high school. When I was in high school we were so close that everyone thought she was my mom… ( it didn’t help that we look so much alike. lol) 
It was fun to hang out with her for the day and give her a tour of the campus. She just loved the cozy feel of the campus; she was impressed with how beautiful everything was. This event was really special and it met a lot to me that Northwood faculty would take the time to plan an event, to honor the ones who are often unappreciated for their hard work and service. What is school, and how can a student get a quality education unless they have teachers and professors who are willing to go far above and beyond the duties classroom? Northwood employs some of the best educators that I have ever had. They work very hard to develop us into effective leaders, role models and ethical businesspeople.
